Laser hair removal

In the past, common methods for removing unwanted hair included plucking, waxing, shaving, depilatories and electrolysis. Most of these methods are painful, messy, and/or time-consuming, while only offering a temporary solution to a frustrating problem!

Now there is a more effective solution: the LightSheer
laser, a state-of-the-art system that can remove hair faster, more reliably, and with less pain than other methods. The LightSheer Diode Laser is designed to eliminate unwanted hair from most parts of the body. It is one of the safest, most effective and technologically advanced laser systems available, and can be used on most every skin type.

How does it work?
The light emitted from the LightSheer
laser is absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles, destroying them or impeding their growth. At the same time, the laser hand piece uses a cooling tip to protect the skin surface, allowing for safe and effective treatment of most skin types, with little risk of side effects.

What should I expect?
Because the laser targets hairs that are in an actively growing phase, several treatments may be required to eliminate any new hairs as they come into a growth phase. Treatments are spaced four to eight weeks apart and can take from 10 minutes (the upper lip) to 45 minutes (back or legs). On most treated areas a topical numbing cream is applied, making the procedure very well tolerated by most people. Immediate after-effects, if any, are minimal, and may include mild redness and irritation.

When is the best time for treatment? What about sun exposure?
The laser-treated areas will be more sun-sensitive for a few weeks, so a broad-spectrum sunscreen is recommended at all times. Any areas that will be exposed to the sun regularly such as the face or legs should be treated in the fall, winter or spring, rather than the summer.
