Daxxify is our newest minimally invasive injectable treatment that is FDA-approved to soften glabellar lines, commonly known as frown lines. Similar to Botox Cosmetic and Dysport, Daxxify is a neuromodulator that uses botulinum toxin type A to relax facial muscles that cause frown lines and wrinkles. It works by temporarily blocking the nerve signals of the targeted facial muscles. Once injected, the treated muscle relaxes, softening the lines and giving the skin a more youthful, relaxed appearance.
HOW LONG DO RESULTS LAST?
Daxxify uses a special formulation that combines the botulinum toxin with a unique protein, which may help to extend the effects of the neuromodulator on the treated muscle. In some patients this may give longer-lasting results than other injectable neurotoxins.
WHO IS AN IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR DAXXIFY?
Men and women in good overall health of varying age and skin type who wish to temporarily smooth out facial lines and wrinkles are good candidates for Daxxify.
HOW IS A DAXXIFY TREATMENT PERFORMED?
Daxxify treatments are very similar to Botox Cosmetic or Dysport treatments. All treatments begin with an in-office consultation where Dr. Alison Black or Cheryl Sundlov, PA-C assess your facial needs, then Daxxify is injected into targeted facial muscles through a fine needle in a series of injections, which takes only a few minutes.
IS DAXXIFY PAINFUL?
Daxxify, like other injectable treatments, is minimally painful, especially when the injection is performed by an experienced injector like Dr Alison Black, a board-certified dermatologist, or Cheryl Sundlov PA-C, our physician assistant. Most patients report only minor discomfort.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME?
Daxxify is non-surgical and requires no downtime or recovery period. We do recommend avoiding lying down flat, yoga, facials, massage or strenuous exercise for about 4 hours after your treatment.
ARE THERE SIDE EFFECTS?
Common side effects of Daxxify are typically minor and resolves on their own without intervention. Rarely, patients may experience redness and swelling at the injection site, which usually subsides in a few hours. Temporary bruising at injection sites is also possible.
